As part of the second part of its “Tourist Destinations” initiative, the  (Hour and Hour) program discusses ways to support national identity and sustainable development.

The “hour and hour ” program organized the events of the second part of the fourth edition of its “Tourist Destinations” program, in cooperation with the Youth Apparatus of Al Sailiya Club, at the Rixos Gulf Hotel Doha.

The event was attended by a selection of specialists and those interested in the tourism and cultural sectors, with active participation from media professionals, entrepreneurs, and activists in the community field.

The second part of the event reflected the slogan “Transitioning from the Concept of a Destination to Crafting an Experience,” as evident in the discussion session. During the session, participants discussed ways to develop domestic tourism in the State of Qatar, and the importance of integrating media, entrepreneurship, and branding in building a balanced tourism image that reflects national identity and contributes to supporting sustainable development.

The event’s program included an introductory tour inside the hotel, followed by a segment on traditional cooking with Chef Mohamed Al Abdullah. He showcased features of traditional Qatari cuisine, highlighting local heritage as part of the tourism experience.

The event also featured the organization of diverse workshops, including a Sadu weaving panel workshop, a Ramadan Ghirash workshop, and a candle-making workshop, in addition to a dialogue session that discussed professional, cultural, humanitarian, and marketing aspects related to tourism.

Participating in the dialogue session were Mr. Ayman Al-Qudwa, an expert in the travel and tourism sector, who provided a professional reading of the reality of domestic tourism in Qatar, emphasizing the importance of transforming local sites into integrated tourism experiences. Mrs. Hanan Al-Yousfi, a media personality and social influencer, addressed the role of digital media in shaping the public’s perception of tourist destinations and the influencer’s responsibility in conveying the tourism experience, in addition to highlighting the role of humanitarian content in building trust with the audience.

For her part, Mrs. Maria Fiter, International Brand Ambassador, shed light on the role of visual identity and branding in enhancing the appeal of tourist destinations and building global trust, pointing out the importance of the first impression in shaping the visitor’s image of the destination.

The event also featured the cultural competition segment “Think and Answer,” presented by influencer Ahmed Batoo, along with a number of interactive segments, before the program concluded with honoring and a group photo.

She added that this edition represents a new step towards empowering local initiatives and stimulating community participation in supporting the tourism sector, noting that the “hour and hour” program continues to work on innovating platforms for dialogue and interactive experiences that combine knowledge, entertainment, and belonging, contributing to consolidating the concept of responsible tourism and enhancing awareness of the country’s cultural and heritage components.
