Hilton Doha has unveiled a bold new creative initiative celebrating local Qatari talent through a striking large-scale street art mural, created by renowned Qatari artist Mubarak Al Malik, on a prominent exterior wall of Hilton Doha. The project underscores Hilton Doha’s commitment to community engagement, cultural expression, and the empowerment of local creatives, in alignment with Qatar National Vision 2030 (QNV 2030).
The concept for the mural was born from a desire to transform a necessity into a masterpiece. As part of ongoing renovations at Hilton Doha, the team identified the need to revitalize the hotel’s northern wall, a massive 25-meter concrete expanse stretching across nearly the entire side of the property. Rather than treating it as a purely functional upgrade, Hilton Doha saw an opportunity to reimagine the space as a cultural landmark inspired by Doha’s thriving street art scene.

To bring this vision to life, Hilton Doha collaborated with Mubarak Al Malik, selecting him for his exceptional versatility and ability to bridge fine art, graffiti, and sculpture. His multidisciplinary approach brings depth and dimension beyond traditional street art, making him the ideal partner for a project of this scale and significance.
The mural itself represents a visual dialogue between Hilton’s brand DNA and local Qatari heritage. Designed as a vibrant pathway leading guests toward Trader Vic’s, the artwork incorporates lively colors and French-Polynesian influences that echo the tropical spirit of the iconic venue. This energy is thoughtfully grounded in local culture through the seamless integration of traditional Arabic weave patterns (Sadu) and Qatari cultural motifs. The result is a harmonious fusion where the tropical and the traditional meet, perfectly complementing the iconic silhouette of Doha’s West Bay skyline and the Corniche.

Supporting and empowering local talent is a key pillar of Qatar National Vision 2030, with a strong emphasis on human development, cultural preservation, and creative innovation. Through this initiative, Hilton Doha reinforces its role as an active partner in Qatar’s cultural and creative evolution.
Commenting on the initiative, Wael Maatouk, Area General Manager at Hilton Doha, said:
“At Hilton Doha, we believe in the power of art to connect communities and tell meaningful stories. This project goes beyond aesthetics, it is a celebration of Qatari creativity and a reflection of our commitment to supporting local talent in line with Qatar National Vision 2030. By transforming our hotel exterior into an open, accessible gallery, we are proud to contribute to Doha’s evolving cultural landscape.”

Artist Mubarak Al Malik shared his perspective on the collaboration:
“This project is deeply personal to me as a Qatari artist. Transforming such a prominent public space into a piece that blends our heritage with contemporary influences has been incredibly rewarding. Collaborating with Hilton Doha demonstrates genuine support for local creatives and allows our culture and stories to be seen, experienced, and celebrated by the wider community.”
Beyond its visual impact, the mural reinforces Hilton Doha’s commitment to championing the local creative economy. More than a design feature, it transforms the hotel’s exterior into a public art destination, an accessible, Instagrammable cultural landmark that celebrates Doha’s artistic evolution and invites both residents and visitors to engage with the city’s creative spirit.

The street art installation is now open to the public and is expected to spark conversation, social media engagement, and community pride, positioning art as a powerful bridge between hospitality, culture, and national identity.
