A tribute to Valais cuisine

For Chris K. Franzen, Managing Director of the Bürgenstock Resort Lake Lucerne, himself a native of Zermatt, this year’s edition is a personal tribute to his homeland and its rich Valais culinary heritage.

“What makes Chefs United so unique is the encounter of exceptional individuals who all share the same passion: a love of authenticity, craftsmanship, and the joy of shared enjoyment,” says Chris K. Franzen.

“Working with the chefs from Zermatt is an honour for my team and me. Their creativity and deep respect for the product perfectly embody the spirit of this event: excellence, hospitality, and a truly authentic experience,” says Mike Wehrle.

Since 2017, Corporate Culinary Director Mike Wehrle has been setting culinary standards at the Bürgenstock Resort Lake Lucerne. Guided by precision, creativity, and a deep respect for the finest products, he has established a distinctive signature style. His career spans leading restaurants in Asia, Europe, and the USA, with each experience seamlessly woven into his innovative concepts.

Driven by openness, knowledge sharing, and a spirit of innovation, Wehrle has established the Bürgenstock Resort as one of Switzerland’s leading gourmet destinations. Recognised among Europe’s most prestigious hotels, the resort has been awarded three Michelin Keys (2024), named GaultMillau Hotel of the Year (2018), and today, holds an impressive 44 GaultMillau points – continuing its gastronomic ascent under Wehrle’s leadership.

A Diverse Program

Chefs United offers a table-free dining format, encouraging guests to move freely between stations, meet the chefs, and discover the stories behind each dish. The atmosphere will be lively and stylish, enhanced by live music from the Knights Club band and surprise performances throughout the evening.

The evening will culminate in Carini’s show-stopping dessert buffet, paired with champagnes, wines and fine spirits – a sweet finale to a night that promises to be one of the culinary highlights of Europe’s 2025 calendar.
