Mall of Qatar marked World Animal Day with its first-ever animal welfare initiative in collaboration with #BigBMeetup, “Every Paw Deserves a Home,” dedicated to promoting animal welfare, supporting the local rescue community and giving a voice to animals in need. Held on 3 October, the initiative brought together animal rescuers, welfare advocates, families and members of the community for an afternoon focused on compassion, responsible care and the importance of providing rescued animals with safe and loving homes.

One of the day’s greatest achievements was seeing several rescued animals successfully find new homes, with families opening their hearts and welcoming them into their lives. This meaningful outcome was a true reflection of the initiative’s purpose and a moment worth celebrating for the rescue community. Families and children also enjoyed face painting and a pet-themed upcycled art workshop.

As part of the initiative, Mall of Qatar hosted a panel discussion in collaboration with #BigBMeetup about “Animal Welfare in Qatar: How We Can Work Together to Improve the Lives of Our Furry Friends,” featuring Dr. Amal Al Malki, Nagham Al Badawi, Lana Malkawi, Kelly Allen and Charlotte Gelmette. The discussion explored the animal welfare landscape in Qatar, the challenges facing animals and how individuals, organizations and the wider community can work together to improve their wellbeing.
