Winter makeup trends for 2024/2025 that can be spotted all over social networks and international high fashion runways include bold colours such as red, berry and burgundy lips, statement graphic eyeliner, metallics, and sparkles. Icy, subtle shimmer eyeshadows and dense silver toned metallic eyeshadows which are especially trending this Winter, will add an instant touch of glamour and elegance to any festive Soireé!
Below I’ve explained how to achieve a glamorous evening makeup look for the season.
How to re-create this Metallic Silver look :
- Start by applying a primer to your eyelid, this will create an even base for a smooth eyeshadow application.
- Apply an off white/ vanilla shade all over the eye-socket with an eyeshadow brush
- With a blending eyeshadow brush, apply a light grey, matte eyeshadow over the outer half of the eyelid and in the eye socket crease
- Line your upper eyelid and the upper waterline with a black eye pencil. Make sure that the line is thinner on the inner eyelid and gradually getting thicker towards the outer corner.
- Create a slanted flick with the eye pencil at the outer corners of the eye to create a cat eye effect.
- Lining your upper eyelid with eye pencil before applying liquid liner creates more intensity and depth to the eye makeup, this trick also makes your liquid eyeliner last longe. By applying eye pencil first, this creates a guide for you to apply your liquid eyeliner in the correct position.
- With a small, pointed eyeshadow crease brush lightly trace and softly blend a dark grey matte eyeshadow in the eye socket crease and flick outwards and upwards at the outer corners of the eye. Do not over blend the dark grey eyeshadow, the purpose of this step is to create a cut crease/ floating eyeliner look to accentuate the shape of the crease of your eyelid.
- Apply a light coloured silver, satin finish eyeshadow all over the eyelid
- Apply a shimmer white eyeshadow in the inner corner of the eye to give your eyes a bigger appearance. This trick will also enhance the shape of the cat eye look.
- Apply a matte, medium warm brown eyeshadow in the crease of the eye with a fluffy eyeshadow brush and blend slightly upwards and outwards. For this look I apply the warm brown shade slightly above the traced dark grey eyeshadow to bring back some warmth and depth to the eyeshadow look.
- For extra sparkle, apply a fine silver glitter eyeshadow with your finger to the inner half of your upper eye lid.
- To clean up the shape of your winged liner, use a q-tip dipped in some makeup remover liquid.
- Lastly, apply a the matte medium brown warm eyeshadow along the lower lash line to bring the whole eye look together, and apply a volumizing black mascara to the top and bottom lashes.
- For added drama, you can apply your favourite strip lash to the upper lash line.
