Turkish Airlines added Bukhara, historical city of Uzbekistan to its flight network

Flying to more countries than any other airline, Turkish Airlines continues to add new destinations to its flight network. Flag carrier started its operations to Bukhara, ancient city of Central Asia with its history spanning over 2500 years and listed as a World Heritage by UNESCO. Global brand’s TK266 flight operated with A321neo type aircraft landed in city on 7 June for the first time, welcomed with water salute.

            During the ceremony held at Bukhara International Airport, Turkish Airlines General Manager Bilal Ekşi stated; “We are happy to add Bukhara, the city that invites travelers to an historical journey. As our flights to the city that lives past and present together supports the economic and sentimental ties between Türkiye and Uzbekistan, it also ensures Uzbekistan’s historical streets are even more accessible to travelers from all around the world.”

            Starting from 7 June 2022, reciprocal flights between İstanbul Airport and Bukhara International Airport will be operated two days of the week (Tuesday and Friday) and they will depart from İstanbul Airport at 01:30 and from Bukhara International Airport at 09:10.

            As a spiritual heart of Turkish-Islamic history and one of three cities in the world holding the title of Kubbet-ül İslam (Domes of Islam), Bukhara drew the interest of millions of travelers over the course of history with its rich history of knowledge, culture and Islamic fiber. Strengthening its ties to Turkish-Islamic world throughout history, Türkiye is aiming to increase the allure of the region with the flights operated by the flag carrier.
