A two-week celebration of yoga, sound healing, and wellness in harmony with World Wellness Weekend.
MALDIVES, August 2025 — W Maldives is set to ignite a new wave of island wellbeing with The Joy Rituals, a two-week collaboration with Happy Hormones Yoga founders Rajendra Kumar and Katrin Berger. Taking place from 15 to 27 September 2025, the program brings together an uplifting series of yoga, meditation, laughter, and sound healing experiences that invite guests to reconnect with their inner vitality while soaking in the dreamlike beauty of the Maldives.

Designed to be both elevated and joyful, The Joy Rituals is more than a wellness program, it is a playful journey into balance and happiness. Guests will experience sunrise and sunset yoga sessions, transformative breathwork and meditation, laughter yoga to spark contagious joy, immersive sound healing and engaging Health & Happiness lectures. Aqua Yoga in the turquoise lagoon adds a uniquely Maldivian twist, while evening meditations blend sound and serenity under the stars. The program also coincides with World Wellness Weekend from 19 to 21 September 2025, highlighting W Maldives’ commitment to global wellbeing initiatives with a bold, W-style edge.
Rajendra and Katrin bring a wealth of expertise and passion to the island. Rajendra, a two-time world record holder and gold medalist in yoga, is celebrated for his authentic energy and ability to infuse every practice with laughter and presence. His record-breaking feat of continuous laughter for three hours and 47 minutes reflects his philosophy that joy is a profound path to self-discovery.

Katrin, a certified yoga teacher, sound healer, and molecular biologist, brings a rare integration of science and spiritual practice. Her sessions combine healing vibrations with clarity and compassion to bring about a deeper sense of connection. Together, they embody the heart of Happy Hormones Yoga: where tradition meets innovation, and where happiness begins within.
Commenting on the upcoming collaboration, Amila Handunwala, General Manager of W Maldives, said: “At W Maldives, we are constantly looking for bold and inspiring ways to elevate the guest experience. The Joy Rituals with Happy Hormones Yoga brings a fresh dimension to wellness,
blending the playful spirit of W with deeply transformative practices. It is a chance for our guests to find balance, energy, and joy in one of the world’s most breathtaking settings.”

Rajendra Kumar added: “Yoga is not only about physical postures, it is about living fully, freely, and with a smile. Through The Joy Rituals, we want to remind people that laughter and joy are powerful tools for healing and awakening. Bringing this philosophy to W Maldives feels like the perfect match of spirit and setting.”
The co-founder of Happy Hormones Yoga, Katrin Berger, also shared: “Our work is about creating harmony in both body and mind. With sound healing and yoga, guests can release tension, restore balance and feel more present in their lives. At W Maldives, surrounded by nature and beauty, this experience becomes even more profound. We are thrilled to share The Joy Rituals with guests from around the world.”
Whether guests are seeking rejuvenation, self-discovery, or simply a playful escape from routine, The Joy Rituals at W Maldives promises an unforgettable blend of luxury, wellness, and island magic.
