“Hour and Hour” Celebrates Students’ Return with a Community and Entertainment Event at West Walk

Featuring Participation from Ministries and Educational, Social, and Sports Institutions

On Thursday, August 27, 2025, the “Back to School” activities kicked off under the slogan “With Knowledge and Work, We Build the Nation”. The event was organized by the Hour and Hour Program in collaboration with the Youth Division of Al-Sailiya Sports Club at West Walk, drawing a large turnout of families and students, along with participation from a number of ministries and educational, health, social, and sports institutions.

The four-day event ran daily from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., offering a rich program of diverse activities blending education and entertainment.

The opening day featured a variety of interactive activities designed for children and families, including educational and creative workshops, unique sports and artistic performances, as well as cultural competitions under the interactive slogan “Think and Answer”, combining fun with learning.

Educational and awareness corners were also set up in partnership with several official bodies, with contributions from health, cultural, and artistic institutions, as well as sports federations—ensuring an inclusive and diverse environment that covered educational, health, social, and athletic aspects.

The second day witnessed the official opening ceremony on the main stage, with entertaining and educational performances starting with cartoon characters, followed by a quiz segment in cooperation with the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change. Highlights included a puppet theater in collaboration with Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art, a bubble show that amazed children, a Taekwondo performance, and an engaging scientific session by Alef Library. The day concluded with the “Think and Answer” cultural competition, hosted by media figures Sultan Al-Nuaimi and Saud Al-Meer.

Day three began with cartoon character shows, followed by awareness quizzes in cooperation with the General Directorate of Endowments, puppet theater with Mathaf, an environmental entertainment segment, a basketball demonstration, and a science session with Alef Library. The evening wrapped up with another “Think and Answer” competition presented by Sultan Al-Nuaimi and Saud Al-Meer.

The final day opened with an early round of the “Think and Answer” cultural competition, featuring media personality Badr Al-Silawi and student Mohammed Al-Dosari. It was followed by a puppet show with Mathaf, a bubble performance, a karate demonstration, and another science session with Alef Library. The day concluded with a second “Think and Answer” competition, again jointly presented by the hosts.

Education: The Foundation of Progress and Nation-Building

On this occasion, Ms. Tamani Al-Yafei, CEO of the Hour and Hour Program, stated:

Through this program, we aimed to provide our children and families with a mix of educational and recreational activities that foster creativity and instill national values.”

“We are honored by the fruitful collaboration with our partner ministries and organizations, including the Ministry of Public Health, Ministry of Municipality, Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, Ministry of Social Development and Family, the General Directorate of Endowments, Education Above All Foundation, Al-Salam Schools, Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art, the General Directorate of Traffic, Qatar Cricket Association, Qatar Chess Association, Sealine Motar Club, Qatar Society for Rehabilitation of Special Needs, Alef Library, in addition to the media professionals who enriched the event. This truly reflects the spirit of community partnership on which Hour and Hour is built.”

Dr. Mohammed Al-Marri, President of Al-Sailiya Sports Club, also remarked:

“This event reflects Al-Sailiya Club’s commitment to strengthening its community role and providing an educational and recreational environment that prepares our children for the new academic year with optimism and enthusiasm. We place great emphasis on quality activities that combine fun with awareness, while supporting the vision of the Ministry of Sports and Youth and Qatar National Vision 2030 in investing in youth potential.”

Dr. Al-Marri extended his sincere gratitude to the Hour and Hour Program for their outstanding role in ensuring the success of the event, and for the constructive partnership with the Youth Division of Al-Sailiya Club—affirming that such fruitful collaborations always yield impactful initiatives that benefit society, youth, and families.

The event witnessed a remarkable turnout from all age groups and was considered an inspiring platform for reinforcing educational and cultural values, while motivating students to embrace the new school year with positivity and determination.
