Mr. Akkari presided over one of the most challenging and productive years for the award winning hotel
Mr. Hani Akkari, General Manager of Alwadi Hotel MGallery celebrates his first year as General Manager helming one of Qatar’s most luxurious and innovative boutique luxury hotels.
“It has been a great honor to lead the talented team at Alwadi Hotel MGallery and deliver the most personalized and memorable experience for each and every one of our guests,” Mr. Akkari said of his first year of his tenure.
Mr. Akkari leads Alwadi Hotel with more than 15 years’ of experience at some of the world’s most recognized luxury properties in Europe and Middle East. With more than a decade of experience with Accor, the operating company of Alwadi Hotel MGallery, and a wealth of experience in five star and luxury hotel management, Mr. Akkari has been the driving force behind the hotel earning its coveted third place in Qatar on TripAdvisor in 2020 out of 175 hotels in Qatar.
With his leadership, the hotel also won a host of accolades including, Booking.com’s Traveller Review Awards 2020; TripAdvisor’s 2020 Travelers’ Choice Awards and Corporate Travel Awards’ 2020 Luxury Boutique Hotel of the Year.
“The past year was a challenging one for the hospitality sector and the fact that Alwadi Hotel MGallery was able to cement its leading position in the competitive Doha market and win prestigious awards highlights the success of our strategy to adapt and build resilience,” Mr. Akkari said.
“We managed to increase our business performance compared to the year 2019 – building on our popularity as a destination for staycations and weekend stays – and we can proudly say that we had no major redundancies and hired new team members during the pandemic and I am very proud of this.”
Mr. Akkari said the hotel’s strategic location in Msheireb Downtown Doha and connected with Souq Waqif also made it a popular destination for dining.
“Our dining outlets have become some of the most sought after destinations in Doha with our poolside restaurant and bar O’Glacee and the Infinity Rooftop bar with the most exclusive views of the Corniche and Doha’s magnificent skyline,” Mr. Akkari said.
“Our luxuriously appointed rooms and suites and dining outlets combined with our legendary service has resonated with the market.”
Mr. Akkari also worked hand-in-hand with Qatari authorities and his team to ensure the hotel provided a COVID-19 safe environment for guests and staff.
“I am proud to announce that the hotel is ALL Safe certified. This is Accor’s highly regarded COVID-19 safety program which was implemented on 17 June 2020 and Qatar Clean certified implemented by the Qatar National Tourism Council on 22 June 2020,” he said. “Ensuring to provide a safe and clean experience for all is a priority.”
Looking forward to the next 12 months, Mr. Akkari said he was focused on continuing to create “Memorable Moments” for his valued guests.
“It’s an understatement to say that 2020 was unprecedented and as we move forward, we all have to adapt to the “New Normal”. What certainly has not changed is my commitment to driving our team to do better every day.
