The end of a holiday can often bring a mix of emotions: from the fond memories of sun-soaked days and leisurely evenings out to the reality of returning to work or school. While the transition back to daily routines can be challenging, there’s no reason why you can’t keep that post-holiday glow alive. Here are my top tips to help you maintain that radiant look and feel as you ease back into your routine.

Ease Back into Your Routine

Returning to work or school after a holiday can be overwhelming. To make the transition smoother, try to reintroduce your daily routine gradually. Start by prioritizing tasks and focusing on getting a good night’s sleep. Poor quality sleep contributes to stubborn dark under eye circles, dull sagging skin and wrinkles. Magnesium Glycinate is an excellent health supplement to incorporate into your evening bedtime routine to promote a deeper, calmer sleep.

Starting the day with a ten minute morning meditation can help make you feel centered and mentally prepared for the day ahead.  Mindful low impact movement such as yoga or pilates will ease you into your regular workout routine. It will help to improve circulation, detox your system and  promote better sleep for healthy, glowing skin.

The Power of a Lymphatic Massage

One of the best ways to maintain your post-holiday glow is by going for a lymphatic drainage massage. This type of massage helps stimulate the lymphatic system, which is essential for detoxifying your body for improved immune function. This massage gently encourage the natural drainage of the lymph, reducing puffiness and promoting circulation. As a result, you’ll notice an improvement in your skin tone and a reduction in any post-vacation bloating, helping you feel lighter and more energized.

Dry Body Brushing

Dry brushing is an ancient Ayuverdic body treatment that has gained popularity in recent years. Thankfully dry brushing can easily be done in the comfort of your own home for a few minutes 3-5 times a day. Dry brushing is excellent for skin exfoliation and to promote blood circulation Similar to a lymphatic drainage massage, it also helps to detox your body by encouraging lymph drainage.

Treat yourself to a Hammam, full body Scrub, or a Peel.

A visit to a hammam (traditional steam bath) can work wonders for detoxifying and deeply cleansing your skin. Follow this with a full-body scrub to remove dead skin cells, and a nourishing full body wrap/ mask to leave your skin soft, smooth and glowing.

For a more intense treatment, consider a body peel to rejuvenate your skin further. Chemical body peels are a minimally invasive treatment using acids such as glycolic acid, lactic acid and salicylic acid. Body peels help to exfoliate the outermost layer of skin which helps to fade sunspots, even out skin tone, and improve skin texture.

Skin Glow energizing smoothie

Complement these treatments with a daily energizing and detoxifying smoothie packed with skin healthy antioxidants. This smoothie will help boost your skin from the inside out, helping to maintain that healthy, radiant glow. My favourite skin glow recipe is:

  • 1 banana
  • 1 cup of frozen wild blueberries
  • 1 cup of spinach
  • 1 cup of organic coconut water
  • 1/2 cup almond or oat milk
  • 1 tablespoon of powdered hydrolyzed collagen

Try a Korean hair spa treatment

Your hair also deserves some post-holiday TLC. Korean hair treatments are done at specialized hair salons and are known for their ability to deeply cleanse, exfoliate, nourish and repair your hair. A series of steps are involved in the treatment using specialized Korean hair tools and devices which often include a combination of scalp treatments and massage, hair masks, snd steam therapies that penetrate the hair follicle, leaving your hair soft, shiny and voluminous.

Hydro Facials and Cooling facial Tools

Hydro facials are a non invasive facial treatment which deeply cleanses, hydrates, and rejuvenates skin. The hydro facial uses a combination of water, oxygen and a cocktail of skin vitamins and acids to cleanse and tighten pores making it perfect for maintaining the that post-holiday radiance.

Incorporating cooling facial tools into your at home skincare routine is another great way to maintain your glow. Jade rollers, ice globes, or cooling facial sheet or gel masks are the perfect choice to help tighten your pores, reduce inflammation, and enhance product absorption. These tools and masks are best stored in the refrigerator and are particularly effective in the morning, as they can help reduce any facial puffiness.

By incorporating these wellness and beauty tips into your routine, you can keep looking and feeling your best from the inside out as you return to the hustle and bustle of daily life.
